Cosplay Sentinels

Taking an active approach to Cosplay is Not Consent, we at Hentai Matsuri are excited to launch our community support service: Cosplay Sentinels! Cosplay Sentinels comes from various members of our community sharing personal stories of sexual harrasement and lack of active support from other conventions. 

Cosplay Sentinels aims to take a Trauma-informed approach to advocacy and support on behalf of any attendees who might need our services. Rather than having our attendees not sure of who to go to during a time of distress, leading to them having to share their story time and time again with little to no emotional support, our advocates (the Sentinels) strive to offer advocacy, support, and resources for our attendees. You can find us at our table or look for our roaming Sentinels with our sign for any questions or support you might need. 

Remember that while your story is yours alone, we are not a confidential source and may need to “Report Up” to security and our department heads to help keep Hentai Matsuri a fun and safe environment as much as possible.
